FOURTH of July 2014

Our fourth of July this year was simple and low-key this year.  We started the day with our traditional crepes Americana-style {strawberry & blueberry filling}.

                                                  {Last year= a very pregnant Mommy}

Another one from last year...Anya looks like a baby wearing a bib!
She wore the same outfit two years in a row.

 This year...double trouble;-)
sad it's blurry...this was the best shot I got of these two wiggle worms...
We played outside in the kiddie pool and water table.  Then we visited Mama at the hospital to bring her some cheer.  Praise the Lord she is doing MUCH better!
We grilled out with my family for dinner: blue cheese burgers, hot dogs, and brats.

Daddy's little "firework" show for the kids...

Throwing those pop rock firework thingy's. ($5 to anyone who can name them...)

A little flea market mini shoot with this guy...

God bless America!  I hope you and your loved ones had a great fourth of July celebrating our freedoms!

My 300th post!

Papa gave Anya a "Frozen" coloring/ sticker book when she woke up.  She's in love.
Katie put some highlights in my hair...very much needed.  Anya wanted some "foils" too;-)

While waiting for my hair to process during Oliver's nap.  My finger had a "boo boo".  Nurse Anya took good care of me and fed me bananas and tea.  Her imagination is so much fun these days!!
Things got a little crazy when my mom had to go to the ER because she got diverticulitis.  We went to go visit her and found out she would be able to come home after a few rounds on antibiotic IV.
Praise the Lord!  We were two happy girls driving home from the hospital!

On our way home from the hospital we stopped at a garage sale of a former pre-k teacher.  Jackpot!  Anya loved playing with the new waffle legos and puzzles I picked up for her.

Oliver and Anya rough-house through the pack-n-play screen.  It cracks Oliver up!
Oliver started drinking from Anya's cup and said "cup, cup, cup" for the first time!
We had dinner on the deck.  I told you we spent most of the day out there!  Josh grilled hot wings and I made a salad.
After dinner it's becoming a weekly tradition for us to have a campfire and roast s'mores.  Oliver thinks he's a big boy.  He wants to participate so badly.
Anya all clean and fresh from bath after those sticky s'more made a mess!  I love the smell of my clean babies:-)
It's amazing what can all happen in a day.  This was definitely one of those days where it seemed like a week long.  After the kids went down we leave the monitor with Aunt Katie and Josh and I take Charlie for a walk.  We started to watch the finale of "Fixer Upper" but I didn't last very long.
This Mommy was exhausted!

I hope you had a great tenth!

Eighth Anniversary

Eight Years...

To celebrate our eighth anniversary, we had breakfast skillets and coffee at Egg Harbor in Barrington.  We walked around downtown Barrington and went into some of the shops.  Thanks Josh for being a good sport about it;-)

For dinner Josh took me to Aquaviva Winery.  The food was great and they treated us very well.  They know Josh because he DJs there often...and they love him.

We were deciding on our dessert when they took away the menu and told us we wouldn't need it.  Then they brought out a large plate with three of the desserts on it. A-mazing.  My favorite was the tiramisu.

Eight years married...  we've experienced so much in these short eight years.  I truly believe the best years are ahead of us!

Oliver is 11 Months!

Dear Oliver,
Happy 11 months!  This month you have become much more confident in your "cruising" around holding onto furniture.  I find you standing up under the table "walking" from chair to chair, crawling everywhere, and you are into everything.  Everything you touch goes in your mouth.  You are the happiest, easiest babies ever.  I love the joy that you have...it's an innate quality about you that I love.  I pray daily that your joy for life will touch those around you.

11 Month Stats:
22lbs
Size 12-18 month clothes
Size 3 shoes
Crawling and cruising
Two teeth
Whole milk bottles
Size 4 diapers
Two naps 9am & 1pm
6:30/7:00pm bedtime

You are Mr. Chatterbox!  I hear you mimicking what we say all the time.  It's precious!  Today you sneezed and it sounded like you said "bless you" afterwards.  So cute!! You tried eating for the first time with a fork yesterday and it was impressive watching you stab at your food...I think you forget you have two teeth.  You eat everything.  At bath time you were playing with a cup and drank from the cup.  Daddy was impressed and laughed that you knew how to drink from a cup!  You definitely watch and learn a lot from Anya.

You love:
Bottles
Food
Exploring
Throwing the bouncy ball (like a basket ball player...you are all boy!)
Clifford (like a rocking horse)
Crawling in our kiddie pool
Going down the toddler slide on our tiny play set (with help)
Anya
When Mommy holds you
Daddy's cuddles
Playing "parade" with the instruments with Anya
Music and dancing

You dislike:
Fevers
Swings (not a huge fan)
Exersaucer (sometimes I have to use it though)
The end of bath time

We had a big scare with you a few weeks ago when you had febrile seizures caused by Roseola...but Praise the Lord you are healthy and happy again.  I love you so much Oliver, my little buddy.
Love,
Mommy
xoxo
