10 on 10:: April 2014

ten on ten button

{Once a month on the tenth taking a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours. Finding life and beauty in the ordinary things of our day to day! }

I started this project back in January of 2012 as a way to capture my days during the precious time of raising my baby girl.  I am a reflective person and have a passion for taking photos and blogging so Ten on Ten really appealed to me.  It helps me to remember the little things in everyday life.

I woke up and Josh took the kids so I could get ready for my morning at Women2 Women at church.  Anya comes up and announces to me "Dinner's ready Mommy!"  Such a sweet girl to wake up to.  I love hearing her voice in the morning...when she's not screaming.
Daddy made a cheese omelet and sausage for Anya!  Anya loves eggs.  She would eat them every meal if I let her.  He was so sweet and made me a breakfast sausage sandwich:-) Luckiest lady ever!
The second Thursday of the month means Women2Women at church!  I lead a table and the kids come with for the childcare/ "pre-k". The message titled "The Cure for the Hectic Life".  I had a bunch of take-aways that I want to apply to my life; including making the Sabbath a priority for rest, reflection, God, & family.  How awesome that we have a God that commands us to rest for a day?! Yes, please!
My phone died at W2W, so I wasn't able to take any pictures...
Ollie Man had mango for lunch and approved!
After lunch Oliver went down for a nap and Anya was playing so nicely independently.  When I came downstairs I saw this..."Good job, Minnie.  Mommy, Minnie went potty!"~Anya.
I've learned that Anya sometimes takes the best naps when they are later in the afternoon, like 2pm.  So I put her down around 2:00, and then I even took a nap...and when I woke up the clock said 4pm!

Little O after he woke up from his nap....  He loves those fingers;-)

It was a gorgeous day so we played outside before dinner.  Anya has fun collecting pinecones.  She's such a nature-kid like her Daddy!
 Peaches!
Bathtime after dinner was next.  My kids are messy eaters so this is a must!  I love Ollie's hair.
After Oliver went down I let Anya stay up and later and eat some graham crackers+PB with me.  Daddy had a meeting so we enjoyed some girl time and snuggled on the couch:-)
P.S. Can you tell 3T is too small on this girl now?  #tallmodel
I love how my Ten on Ten always revolves around my kids.  They are my life!
I am blessed.

Little O is 8 Months!

Dear Oliver,

Happy EIGHT Months!  You are growing way too fast.  I say it every month, but it's true!  This month you've hit some fun milestones and you are really developing quite the personality!

This month you've started talking!  You say Mama, Dada, Hi, and one time Anya entered the room and it sounded like you said her name.  We like to think you did:-)

You continue to blow me away with how easy and happy you are.  If you are crying it is because something is bothering you or you are hungry/ tired or you just want Mommy.  Other than that you are extremely easy to soothe, make laugh, and get to fall asleep.  It's amazing!!!  So thank you!

You ADORE Anya.  Everything she does makes you smile and laugh (Okay, maybe not when she hugs you too tight.  But even then you normally don't let it bother you.)  Today Anya played peek-a-boo with you behind out kitchen curtains and you start giggling.  It was adorable!  I could tell in your eyes that you think the world of her and I hope that continues as you grow.

You wear size 12 month clothing almost all the time now and size 4 diapers.  You sit like a champ, and prefer rolling as your mode of transportation.  You love food and are a great eater just like your sister.

This month you started sitting up like a big boy in the stroller.  Although I love when I can transport a sleeping baby with the travel system car seat, it's too heavy to lug around.  We went to the zoo and you loved being able to look around and see everything.

Oliver, I love you so much.  Thank you for bringing so much laughter and joy into my life.  I thank God for the miracle of you every day!

Love,
Mommy
xo

HAPPY {early} EASTER! & Insta-March

Happy April!
It's been WAYYY too long since I last posted.  March just flew by, and here we are in April already. We've been holding on tight to this amazing journey God has us on. This month we got an offer on our house.  Praise the Lord!  Josh also started with Luxe Productions as the Chicagoland Sales Manager/ DJ!!    It is such an answered prayer, and we are very excited to see what God has in store for us.

Snapshots from our March:
Oliver's Pot O' Gold {Puffs} from St. Patty's Day morning

"Warmer" day, snow gone everywhere in town but at this park!  It makes it look freezing cold, but really it was in the low 50s.

Anya put on this hat and said "I'm a pretty lady."

Anya went to the dentist to get comfortable with the environment.  When I told her we were going to the dentist soon she said "No Mommy, I don't want to go to the dentist."  But she did great and loves her Cinderella tooth brush and sparkle toothpaste;-)
Oliver is starting to play independently.  He's so precious playing with his toys.

Mary came to play in early March!

"Toot Toot's" Train Restaurant...when we asked Anya what she wanted she responded with chicken and broccoli.  When I said they didn't have broccoli she said she wanted a salad.  Melted my heart.  She did order strawberry ice cream for dessert;-)

This picture should really say: PINTEREST FAIL!  Kool aid doesn't dye the eggs it just coats them so dye gets all over your fingers when you touch the egg.  But we still had fun:-)
 Miss attitude...geesh...

Oliver's first trip to the zoo!  The weather was so nice, but windy.

Anya loved the lions and tigers.  She also wanted to see "Crocogators.":-)  Love her!

Oliver kept making this face as his "smile" for a few days straight, then he cut his first tooth.  So I'm pretty sure this is his teething smile.  LOL!

I hear this week is supposed to reach 70 degrees!  Welcome April!!!
