Spring Break 2013

Last week was our spring break.  It was so nice having Josh home for a week!  It's one of the greatest blessings of being a teacher.

We started the week by making Easter cookies for Josh's co-workers and the nursery workers at church.  I like to do a little "Happy Spring Break" for his fellow teachers.  This are the best cut-out cookies ever!!!  Anya did more eating and licking than icing the cookies.  These were not given to his co-workers!  LOL!
Here's our spring mantle.  I was happy with how it turned out.  Pretty and spring-y!

Here is "Gigi's" birthday gift: a spring wreath for her front door.  Anya constantly pointed to it saying "Gigi" "Happy".  "Happy" is how she refers to birthdays, because of "Happy birthday".

Anya was invited to Grandmama and Papa's church for an Easter Egg hunt.  Because it's still cold here, we had it inside the church.  Anya was so cute to watch collecting Easter eggs.  She wanted to open each one as she found it.  They had the eggs all over the floor and she skipped right over most of the obvious ones to get the ones "hidden" in corners.

Mid-week we found out the gender of the baby!  IT'S a BOY!!!  Anya wore her big sister shirt and was dressed in pink and blue for our ultrasound appointment.
We went to Rainforest Café with Josh's biological mother and her family.  Anya was pretty scared of the gorillas and other loud animals, but loved the fish!!! It was nice to finally meet his half-siblings Joey and Lauren.  They are such sweet kids.  Anya adored them!
We went to Gigi and Papa's to celebrate Gigi's birthday!  Anya helped Gigi blow out the candles.  Her favorite song is "Happy Birthday"!  It's so cute to hear her trying to sing it!  It sounds more like "Happy to do, Happy to do," then she inserts certain names in...usually it's "Papa" or "Char Char" (Charlie our dog! HA!)
I'm super bummed we didn't get a family Easter picture this year.  I was feeling under the weather and just didn't take time to orchestrate one.  So sad!  I didn't manage to get a few of Anya looking at the lambs that visited our church on Easter.  She loved them!
 Anya peeking through the fence....

Now that spring break is over, life is getting back into its normal routine.  The countdown is on for summer!!!
