37 weeks:: Baby#2 & fun moments this week

First I'll start with a comparison picture because they are fun.  I think I look bigger with Anya?!

Today my baby boy is full term!  I'm not quite sure where time has gone, but this pregnancy is going so fast.  Soon we will be a family of FOUR!

How Far Along: 3rd Trimester, 37 weeks, 9 months!

Size of baby: 6 1/3 lbs...but I have a feeling he's going to be big like Anya.

Maternity Clothes: I love my new maternity jean shorts.  Yes it may be near the end for new clothes but they were needed!

Gender: It's a BOY!!!  I will officially reveal his name the day he is born!

Movement: He's had the hiccups a lot lately, just like his big sis!

Sleep: I have been so blessed with great sleep each night!

What I miss: I really wanted sangria at Josh's birthday party...soon!!!

Cravings: No huge cravings this week

Symptoms: I am feeling so great for being 9 months pregnant in the middle of the summer.  I feel like my normal self actually and frequently forget just how huge I really am.

Birth predictions:  I thought it would be fun to add this into my weekly updates!  I am thinking I'll go maybe a day or 2 early.  Monday, August 12th would be great because we have nothing going on that day (no weddings, no work for Josh, etc.)  I feel like I could go late with him though.  I really hope not since Josh's first day of school is a week after my due date!:(

Best Moment this week:  My doctors appointment this morning went really well.  I am 1cm and 50% effaced!  He has yet to drop but is still head down.  Anya and Josh both came with me to my appointment.  Anya kept saying "baby heart boom boom" and remembers from like a month ago that the doctor said he was "head down".  It's so funny to hear her say "head down"...I can't believe she remembers that when she doesn't even know what it means.  Anya is SO SO SOOOO excited to meet her baby brother.  She definitely understands Mommy has a baby in her tummy and she tells me all the time that she wants to hold and kiss the baby.  It's so adorable.  She tells everyone Mommy has baby in her tummy.  LOL!  The other day she started to climb up onto changing table and gave a huge smile because she knows that's where the baby will go.  I can't wait!!!

Other great moments this week: On Friday Josh came home with flowers for me, a new maternity shirt (one in picture) and took me and Anya to a really good Chinese restaurant.
We had such a great time.

And of course another awesome event this week was celebrating Josh's 30 birthday!!! I threw him a party on Saturday.  It turned out to be a beautiful day for a summer BBQ!

It was really a great week!

36 weeks:: Baby #2

with Anya
                                with boy

How Far Along: 3rd Trimester, 36 weeks, 9 months!

Size of baby: 6lbs

Maternity Clothes: YES! I'm loving my new maternity jean shorts...we're in the middle of a heat wave.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!  I will officially reveal his name the day he is born!

Movement: Oh yes!  I think his butt/ back is against my right rib.  I'm starting to feel pressure on my left hip (hands???)  Hoping he's still head down!

Sleep: Sleeping great...Anya has been waking up at 6am every morning.  That's been fun!;-)

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly and back, sushi, carrying Anya...with all of this being said I do LOVE being pregnant and can't complain!

Cravings: Everything bad for me...:/

Symptoms: Tired and reflux

Best Moment this week:  I'm about to go to my 36 week appointment...hoping I'm making some progress but highly doubt it.

10 on 10:: July 2013

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life &; find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Here's a snapshot of our day today.  It's crazy to think this might be the last 10 on 10 I do before the baby is born!  Crazy to think we will soon be a family of 4!

I woke up to Anya saying "Pee Pee Potty, Pee Pee Potty" and she went on the potty and peed. What a great way to start the day!  Being 35 weeks pregnant I've debated and gone back and forth on the whole potty training thing.  We tried the 3 day training boot camp back in April.  Fail.  She just wasn't ready and with the transition to a big girl bed at the same time we decided it was just too much.  For the past month Anya has been showing increasing desire to go on the potty so we've started a less intensive potty training system that both her and her pregnant-hormonal-tired Mommy can handle.

For breakfast we had Great Grandma Kuertz's homemade banana bread.  Yesterday when Anya woke up from her nap she was very emotional so to cheer her up I said she could help me bake.  Instantly the tears stopped and she was so excited.  This recipe is perfect for breakfast!
Daddy didn't have class until later afternoon so we headed to the pool for the morning.  I packed a lunch and we spent a few hours there.  It was the perfect/ non-humid day for the pool.  Anya grabbed her pail and shovel and was saying "Anya ready!!!"
We were the first ones to get to the baby pool.  Anya went down the slide and slipped backwards and swallowed a bunch of water.  She was scared but about an hour later she got over her fear and was going down all by herself.  I'm so proud of her!

We put a life vest on her and took her to the big pool to swim with Mommy.  It was so nice to be able to hold my baby girl without feeling like she weighs 30 lbs.  She saw our neighbor jumping into the big pool so she gave it a few tries.  She held my hands while she jumped, and I can tell that she is becoming more and more comfortable with the water.  After we ate our lunch we went back into the baby pool and she was walking around the pool and being totally independent.  I talked to a lady due with a boy the same time as me and Daddy fell asleep rested his eyes for a bit.

We came home and Anya and Daddy went down for a nap, while I went to Goodwill and Walmart.
I came home to Anya screaming by her room gate.  She was NOT a happy camper!!!  We had a snack to cheer her up (always does the trick) and then I noticed her 1st ever sunburn.  Poor girl.  I guess I should have done a second application at the pool.
I bought keurig Snapple peach iced tea at Walmart and tried it before dinner.  It was so refreshing!!
Shhh, don't tell Daddy but I painted Anya's toe nails:-)  I got coral nail polish when I went to Walmart and decided to paint Anya's toes while she tried to go potty.  Daddy doesn't like her nails painted yet because she looks like a big girl.

My baby and our pup playing.  They are so good together!

Anya picked out this story for me to read to her before bed.  She also wanted to make sure we had a blanket to cuddle up with.  I'm not sure if she understands hot flashes...:-)  I can tell she is becoming more and more aware of the baby coming.
It's so cute to watch her kiss my belly and talk to the baby.
Daddy has a sleep study at the hospital tonight (for his sleep apnea).  Normally when he is home I read to Anya and then Daddy comes in and we pray and then I leave and Josh and Anya talk.  It's so cute how it's becoming something she gets excited to do.  It will be perfect 1:1 time after the baby comes. The other night Anya said "Mommy pray." After I prayed she said "Bye bye Mommy.  Daddy talk."  Warmed our hearts.  I think this "talk time" is such a great thing to start at a young age.  We can tell it's building her confidence as we let her speak, ask her questions, and reflect on our day.  I also think it's cool that most nights it's a Daddy-Daughter thing.  Something I hope they will continue to do as she grows up.  So tonight I did "talk time" with Anya, it's so cute to watch her little eyes roll up as she says "um" to think about what to tell me next.  Love her!

Happy 10th!  I hope yours was filled with lots of summer-lovin like ours was!

Baby #2: 35 Weeks

In just five short weeks we will meet our little boy!  That is so surreal.  This pregnancy is FLYING!
How Far Along: 3rd Trimester, 35 weeks, 8.5 months!

Size of baby: Over 5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Of course!

Gender: It's a BOY!!!  I will officially reveal his name the day he is born!

Movement: He moves all the time and sometimes it hurts because he's becoming so strong.

Sleep: Sleeping very well but rolling over is becoming increasingly difficult

What I miss: I love being pregnant so I don't miss anything!  I wouldn't trade this for anything.

Cravings: Oh man...I've been so bad lately.  Ice cream....

Symptoms: I'm still very tired mid-day, terrible reflux at night, and occasional dizzy/ lightheaded spells, leg cramps.  I think I'm starting to get a little emotional/ moody too at times...sorry hubby!

Best Moment this week:  I was given a beautiful hand-made quilt from Mama's boss at work.  It has animals on it and bright colors.  It's adorable!

Recently...

This summer has been so much fun.  Josh has been very busy taking classes for his +30 at work, but we've had many mornings with him and that has been nice.  A few weeks ago I decorated my mantle for 4th of July.  Love that holiday!!

We finally checked something off our to do list and ate lunch at "2 Toots" restaurant.  Anya loved how our food was delivered to us on a train and her dessert had a train whistle on it!
We've only been to our community pool once this summer.  ONCE!  So we've decided tomorrow is going to be a pool day.
A few weeks ago the bubbles were a huge hit on our zoo trip!  Anya didn't want to stop playing with them.  I need to make them like this at home: add corn starch to make more suds!
We love playing on the path in our backyard.  I love how she is missing a croc.  Silly girl!
Happy fourth of July!  I can't get over how much she looks like Daddy in this pic.
Showing off my growing baby boy.  I can't believe he will be in our arms soon!
Daddy and Anya at the zoo
We went to the petting zoo last week...so much fun!

Our garden has seriously tripled in size since I took this a few weeks ago.  It is like Little Shop of Horrors....unbelievable how much miracle grow works!

Taking a walk to the park...Mommy was really really exhausted at the end.  Sometimes I think I forget I am 8.5 months pregnant!
Ending a lovely day with a campfire with my hubby.  We roasted s'mores and I won't even tell you how many Hershey kisses I ate with it:/ #pregnantladycraving
Last weekend Katie and I participated in the flea market.  We had so much fun, even though it was SO hot!  Great fun and great success!

Today we spent the morning at the zoo.  Auntie Kates came with us!  Our favorite this time was splashing in the fountains and watching the river otters swim.
Katie and Anya love going on the carousel.  This time Anya chose a camel to ride and she wasn't scared at all!  Unfortunately her animal didn't move up and down:-(

 35 weeks tomorrow!

7th Anniversary and 4th of July 2013

Fourth of July is such a fun holiday.  I absolutely love the month of July and think the Fourth is a great way to kick it off.   July 3 is our wedding anniversary, and with the fourth being the next day it makes it one big fun holiday.  I love that every year on our anniversary we hear/ see fireworks, see families come together and BBQ, have pool parties, and roast smores.  It's such a fun time of year for us.

This year for our anniversary we took advantage of our Massage Envy membership and got massages.  Josh took me to Old Navy to get a top and some earrings....love him!  Then we went to see "World War Z" at Lake in the Hills Theater (best theater ever!)  $5 for matinee and they have recliners!!!  Talk about comfortable!  Then we went to Sammy's Mexican Grill right by our house because we had a Groupon for it.  The food was really good and we are excited to go back and support local restaurants.  They ran out of fried ice cream (why does that always seem to happen at Mexican restaurants??)  Soooo...we went to "Chick-N-Dip" near our house for flurries.  YUM!  Best part was we were home in time to put Anya to bed and we were able to hear our sweet girl singing "Happy Daddy to you".  So precious it totally melted our hearts.  I can't believe this year we celebrated 7 years!!!  Feels like just yesterday...

On the fourth we went over to my parents house for a picnic and campfire.

 Josh's appetizer #1: Stuffed Jalapenos
Josh's appetizer #2: Blue cheese romaine boats
Anya claims that her favorite dip is blue cheese.  Daddy made sure she took a bite.  The verdict?  She hated it and spit it out!  LOL!

Coloring with Mama;-)

Gigi's "water table" fun!  Anya loves having jobs to do.  Scooping water is fun work, but it's even more fun when you have watermelon to put in it.

We ate on the picnic table that Katie and Dad made.  And it was strong enough to support all of us;-)

 Anya made her first S'more!

 Somersaults with Papa

Our fourth this year did not include fireworks due to us being parents and having a toddler with a bedtime.  But that's ok with us:-)
