Our October

I love everything about October.  The leaves changing, Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, apple picking, Halloween, sweaters & boots, warm chili...what's not to love?

Well, this month started off with a bang for us.  On the 1st of October, Josh was in a car accident (Praise the Lord He's fine!).  Then two days later we found out our car was stolen from the auto body shop.  Two weeks later our car was found (YAY!)  But was considered a total loss (BOO!) because of its condition.  We have seen God's Hand at work in the whole situation, and just found out we are getting back double what we expected to get on our car.  This is a huge praise, since we need to buy another car.

Somehow we still found time to celebrate what we love most about this month.  Now that Anya is 2 it is much more fun because we are making memories for her!  It's such a God thing that we even were able to to have time to do all of this.  Josh is so busy with work, handling the claims for the car and accident, DJing, and getting ready to kick off his musical season.  Thank you God for providing (somehow) time for us to cherish together as a family.

Here are some glimpses of our October:

Painting our "Wicked Witch" for Pumpkin Fest in Sycamore!  Our first pumpkin to be in Pumpkin Fest...our "Wizard of Oz" group won 2nd place!!!  I'm sad I don't have any pictures of us at Pumpkin Fest with Josh's parents.  We celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday by shopping at the craft show, eating dinner at Nat's On Maple (SO good!) and checking out the pumpkins.

Carving Pumpkins as a family (note: the pictures don't show the temper tantrums, crying babies, etc.)

Other randoms...

Halloween morning breakfast....we got to eat in a giant spider web;-)  This is the elementary teacher in me coming out.  I do this because I love holidays, love making special *inexpensive* memories for my family, and love being creative.

(Again, the pictures don't show the temper tantrum and Anya's bad cold...not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but just want to be honest! )  But at least Josh and I enjoyed the pumpkin spice bagels;-)

 My little trick or treaters:

Good-bye October, Hello November!
